Nuestras raices. Our roots.  Roots bring stability, nourishment, support. It ties the land to the soul of the tree. The tree in turn connects the land to the sky. The organic to the spiritual.

There are so many similarities between a tree and a woman. She is strong, caring, nurturing. She brings stability, support and nourishment to the soul. She connects the organic to the spiritual, the earth to sky connection. She is powerful. A tree-woman.

The soil in and of itself is the rich dark product of life and death. It supports life and retrieves it. The quality of soil increases with age and experience. To generate a healthy and enduring life, there must be a richness of history and past. For me, it is the coffee and chocolate lands. 

Coffee, chocolate, earth... the rich color of heritage. They are from ancestral places, places of age and time and history. They are the color of skin which survives and endures and carries so much wisdom.
